Illinois Amish Country and Arthur are recognized by Midwest Living Magazine as #62 in their top 100 places to visit.
Listing the many opportunities to shop and the many great locations for unique eating, Midwest Living Magazine lists Arthur as a must see. Maybe not at the very top, but a must see, none the less.
Visit during any one of the "special" weekends noted to the right, or just make plans anytime. There are always a lot of unique and educational things to see and do. Plan ahead to enjoy a meal in an Amish home. (These meals must be scheduled in advance) Or take a guided tour of the area and find out not only where the best shopping is, but receive a deeper insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Illinois Amish community.
If you are a confident wanderer, just cruise the back roads and find scenic views and fun country shops to visit on your own. The roads are mostly all in square miles and fairly easy to wander. There are obvious boundaries to our area, so your are not likely to get lost.
Come see what all the talk is about. Visit Arthur this summer!
