Special events in and around Arthur...
Every Labor Day Weekend, Arthur hosts one of the biggest, 3
day festivals held in Amish Country!
The Amish Country Cheese Festival, going on for over 35 years, attracts tens of thousands of people for the crafts, food, games, live entertainment and of course, the namesake cheese.
Arthur has a long history of cheese making and while the most recent
production plant is now closed, the event lives on. Lots of things to do
with the emphasis on family fun. There is a whole
block
dedicated just to the little ones, with pony rides, inflatable's,
games and activities. The famous cheese games include special divisions
for just the kids, and other cheese games are perfect for including the
whole family! Adults fund plenty to do with the sidewalk sales, craft
and other stands, music and stage shows, street
performers, and plenty to eat.
And then there is the Free Cheese. Free Cheese
served from the
multiple 300# wheels, Free Cheese given to the Cheese
Game participants, and plenty of places to sample of purchase cheese
around the downtown festival area.
This weekend has a lot of fun, and a lot to see and do, check out the Cheese Festival
Website
www.ArthurCheeseFestival.com for an up-to-date
events
schedule. This website is updated regularly and things are added to it
right up to showtime, so check back often.
